In this week’s Bank alt series I’m happy to present my second Banker with nice, affordable and themed clothes. It will not be as elaborated as my previous (and main) bank alt, but my hope is that you guys will find this combination more attractive and easier to gather. Finally, after more than a year, I’ve decided to start “Bank alt series”, and explore some of the fun and good looking bank alt possibilities.  We already had “Pets for the occasion” and “Beyond the Tuxedo… Bank alt smexiness!” (by Aurinna) which kinda falls under this category, but I think it’s the topic that will never get old.

Some people don’t care about their bank alts except how many bag slots and how big bags they have.  Well, if it’s ore / herb / cloth dedicated banker, than it’s probably useless to spend time and money on their appearance,  but if it’s your “main” banker who does all AH transactions and spends great deal of time inside capital city the story changes.  Here is how I treat my bankers.

I know there are many WoW scam sites on all internets, and there is no way to stop them all.  But we managed to stop one and informed you about another one, and here is newest phishing site from China: usbatle.net <– do not visit or leave your WoW account data there!

We have reported (and shutdown) one WoW scam site back in April, but we’ve found a new one.  Watch out for /w like shown above, and don’t go to the link provided. What should you do;

1. Take screenshot! (Print Screen)
2. Reply to the sender with short statements like; Reported / Scam / Fraud etc.  This will (maybe) force them to log off and not /w another player
3. Right click on sender’s name and select “Report spam”
4. Open ticket to GM and provide him with player’s name and url he was advertising
5. Use social sites and forums to inform other players

As said before, whatever you do, do not visit URL provided by scammer!

You’ve seen (once again) all the hype about Winter Veil all over Azeroth.  Before we continue with something special I’ve prepared for you, here is great event guide prepared from hardworking folks at WoWhead.com: Feast of Winter Veil (Dec 15 – Jan 2).

As you might notice, I’m big fan of item sets that aren’t actually sets (no set bonuses), but are obviously made as sets. So for past few days I was looking for something festive, yet not so obviously crafted (cloned) as Winter Garb.

Today I received nice e-mail from Jonas Salomonsen, Danish journalist who writes for videnskab.dk. In short, he informs me about “IT University of Copenhagen” research results on World of Warcraft and fashion, which concludes (wait for it..)… WoW players care about their avatar’s appearance!

“We were surprised that just look and dress meant so much to the players. The difference in the online world and the real world are perhaps not as great as we walk around and think, “says researcher in digital culture Lisbeth Klastrup from IT University of Copenhagen.”

If anything, we are not surprised, research confirms what any above-average  WoW player knows; WoW is as big as life. When you spend 40+ hours /  week logged in, it doesn’t come as surprise that you replicate IRL desires, wishes and ideas into a game (and vice versa).  It’s topic that many game producers ‘exploit’ with free-to-play-games which cost nothing to play, but character customization  can be purchased via so called micro-transactions.
