postheadericon Spotlight: Kirina’s closet

As part of my usual routine, I was browsing Interwebs for WoW fashion themed blogs, and found real jewel; Kirina’s Closet (Ideas for World of Warcraft RP Outfits).  As stated in title, its really fine resource for all the RP-ers (and non RP-ers as well), but moreover; Kirina is running her blog for more over 1 year now. We’ve contacted her and she agreed to give interview and some WoW Fashion Guru  exclusive outfit ideas.

WFG: So, Kirina tell us about your WoW beginnings.

Kirina: I started playing WoW in August of 2007 – I finally caved into my husband’s, Waddell, (then boyfriend) wish…he had been playing for over a year at that point – and so I rolled a Blood Elf (to be pretty :D ) rogue (to be sneaky ;P ) on Lightninghoof to play with him. My first guild to be in was Praetorian (which was also the guild my husband was guild leader of since it started way back in vanilla WoW). Waddell and I recently moved to Tichondrius for a fresh start, where we are now in the guild Monolith. I have met a lot of cool people playing in Praetorian; through my website, I met Kamalia – who played on Lightninghoof, as well. She has given wonderful insight and information to Kirina’s Closet, and is a great WoW friend.

WFG:  Now lets talk about your guild and raiding xp…

Kirina: Both guilds have been, and are, serious raiding guilds. Not that I’ve never had a passion for raiding with a group….when I first started playing, though, my computer wasn’t up to schnapps to allow me to raid effectively…and…I never had the time to dedicate to it. My evenings in-game were spent running through lowbie instances for different items.

WFG:  Since your blog is about RP outfits, I’m guessing you RP? What is that like? :)

Kirina: I have never really RP’d with a group; however, I am partial to RP walking around towns / graveyards (in different outfits, of course), talking to NPCs, and using “party items” to entertain others in-game – my favorite being to drop an Ogre Pinata while waiting with others for the Zeppelin.

WFG:  I see, so what inspired you to start blog about RP fashion?

Kirina: Waddell was actually the one who inspired me to create my own site. He assured me that someone somewhere would like to see what outfits I created (at that point, it wasn’t many), and helped me get a website up and running. What started off as a place to show off what “special” armor/weapons items I had, it soon grew into a full quest to find different, lesser known items to incorporate into the growing number of articles I wanted to make. I believe the site has grown away from being “this is what I have on Kirina” to “Kirina’s modeling this outfit for this type of article”. In a sense, she is a sort of virtual paper doll – and I love dressing her up! ^_^

WFG: And for the end; what are your future ingame goals?

Kirina: One of my main goals for my site is to continue expanding its contents to give ideas for any type of outfit wanted in WoW for both male and female characters. Now that I’m done with all the holidays/special events outfits, I want to turn my attention back to the outfits for all the different classes; however, being as thorough as possible takes a lot of time and researching. I’d also like to jump on the bandwagon and write a bank alt article. There’s so many more ideas I have in mind – too many to write down, so, I guess it’ll all have to be a surprise! ^_^

WFG: Great, good luck, and lets see some items you’ve prepared for our readers..

Kirina

The Simple Robe is one of my favorite robes for Kirina – I love the classic style of the robe, and I find the colors are perfect for her. It can be worn either by itself, sleeveless, or with a wide variety of shirts and accessories. I often put this robe on her when she is in Silvermoon City.

Hallows end

One of my original focuses for Kirina’s Closet was elaborating more on the different holiday/special event outfits. In my articles, I start with the usual/provided outfit items, and then add my own creations. This outfit was in my Hallow’s End Outifts article. Because Hallow’s End is Kirina’s favorite holiday (and mine in real life ^_^), the site also hosts a Hallow’s End Costume Contest during the event.
