Bank Alt: Banker (bank alt series)

Bank Alt: Banker (bank alt series)

Dig this plx: http://digg.com/d31F11i

Finally, after more than a year, I’ve decided to start “Bank alt series”, and explore some of the fun and good looking bank alt possibilities.  We already had “Pets for the occasion” and “Beyond the Tuxedo… Bank alt smexiness!” (by Aurinna) which kinda falls under this category, but I think it’s the topic that will never get old.

Some people don’t care about their bank alts except how many bag slots and how big bags they have.  Well, if it’s ore / herb / cloth dedicated banker, than it’s probably useless to spend time and money on their appearance,  but if it’s your “main” banker who does all AH transactions and spends great deal of time inside capital city the story changes.  Here is how I treat my bankers.

My main banker is L1 NE Warrior. There are several reasons for that; First, it’s not easy to get Night Elf to Iron Forge and still be level 1 (well it is, all you need is Mage and portal to IF, but be aware that IF zone discovery alone (where portal ends and commerce) could give enough XP to level up, so to be on safe side use Warlock summon instead (will discover only commerce zone of the city)). Second, I like Night Elves. Third, NE in IF does not look natural, and with green hairline it really stands out.

Inspiration

If you look at all starting outfits, both Horde and Alliance, you cant’ ignore fact that two new races (Blood Elves and Draenei) have better looking ones, especially Blood Elves.  So by using neutral AH trick*, I’ve sent all BE Paladin gear to my NE Warrior (since there are similarities between NEs & BEs , NE was clear choice). With some “must have” banker’s accessories.

Head: Noble’s Monocle –  fished

Neck: Tarnished Silver Necklace – from ZF

Shirt: Initiate’s Shirt – BElf Paladin

Tabard: Guild Tabard – my bank guild

Wrist: Antique Silver Cufflinks – gift from guildie

Hands: Frayed Gloves – drop

Legs: Initiate’s Pants – BElf Paladin

Feet: Initiate’s Boots – BElf Paladin

Main hand: Keen Machete – want: Fine Schmitar

Off hand: Ornate Drinking Stein – fished

Rings: Silver Piffeny Band –  just for pun

Enchants:  Boots – Minor Speed , Weapon – Striking .

So as you can see, I’ve used more-less all traditional accessories like Antique Silver Cufflinks, Tarnished Silver Necklace, Ornate Drinking Stein and similar, yet managed to achieve  unique look for my banker.

And don’t forget to use barbershop for hairstyle that matches your outfit! ;)

* Neutral AH Trick

It’s not magic trick or anything like that; on PvE or PvP realm create new opposite fraction character on same real. Kill few mobs to get some coins, and put whatever you want on neutral AH in Booty Bay. Ask a friend to  log in his character than buy it off from you.

If your alt is short on cache, visit neutral AH and put some junk on it for insane amount of gold. Ask a friend to log in his character and buy that junk off, ergo giving you money  as member of opposing fraction.

If you lack friends, and play on EU realms, contact me and I’ll do it for you :) . (Disclaimer: fashion transfer only. No pets / mounts / money makers of any kind. Offer limited to EU PvP realms only. You provide all necessary resources. )

Info:

This is first (and only level 1) of my elaborate bank alts army. Usually when people like to try some class, they take it to level 30/40/50 and than abandon it. I don’t, I turn it into bank alt. Higher level’s are more flexible gear wise and have more options, so at the end you don’t have to wear that darn Tuxedo :) .  On the other hand, problem with higher level bank alts lays in the fact that having so many fashionable options eventually takes over half of your bank, leaving very little room for useful things, and making them very inefficient bankers.  Second thing to remember is; higher level gear is mostly BoP/BoE meaning that you will not be able to transfer it to another character if you want to delete this one.

Some thinking  made me realize that probably I’m not the only one with such problem. So how about we invent new “alt” type :) : The Fashionist .  You can leave your main to fight dragons and evil things of whatever. You can have your other alt to do whatever you created it for. You can use your banker to manage all AH transactions. And you can enjoy one dedicated character to satisfy all you fashion needs, with bag room to spare :D . I like it.

That is it for today, see you all soon with next post in My Banker series!
