Aditional note: Pirate Bay admins found guilty>>!

Past year I was avoiding pirate costume, cause I thought ingame pirates were “so 2006″, but resent RL events made me rethink and imho pirates are back on the scene. Also during BC -> Wrath transition and waiting for 3.1.0 patch and Ulduar to come, there is loads of “Bloodsail Admiral“s around, and this could be your chance to hop in. With cap up to L80 it is easier than ever. Read full article..
As you probably suspect, there are several options to achieve Pirate look, some involving rep grind with Bloodsail Buccaneers, some without it.
Lets go..

If you are stuck with bad BsB (Bloodsail Buccaneers) reputation, maybe the best option is to craft / buy required items, and just equip them. Here is list of what you need:
- First Mates Hat – very rare drop from any BSB member in STV
- White Swashbuckler’s Shirt – crafted by tailors worldwide (not popular profession nowadays
) - Angelista’s Grasp – dropped by Chromaggus in BWL, but any other red belt will do
- Buccaneer’s Pants – few
on AH or just run DM few times (that is what they told me) - Buccaneer’s Boots - few
on AH or just run DM few times - Defias Rapier – droped by Defias Watchman inside DM
As you can see these are relative easy to get without countless hours grinding BsB rep. However, there are other options…

If you are already Friendly with BsB, this part is obviously easy. If not read one of many online guides how to achieve this.
- Bloodsail Admiral’s Hat – quest reward: Avast Ye, Admiral! – requires Friendly with Bloodsail Buccaneers
- Buccaneer’s Uniform – quest reward: Dressing the Part – when friendly visit Fleet Master Firallon. Inside you will find:
- Light Scimitar – it’s a world drop, so AH could be place to look for. Ask firends that are leveling to keep eye on it as well. Alternatively there are same model swords ingame, so look for one of those.

We spent some time explaining which parrots should you have as pirate in previous posts, so read that for more info

I hope you enjoyed aricle! I also asked some friends for ingame pirate screenshots, as it would be nice addition. They said: Yarr right matey! and here are the screenshots.

Those of us who are not fortunate enough to grind a 1/10,000 drop from slaughtering Bloodsail cannot agree with your assertion that First Mate Hat, one of the rarest drops in the game, deserves to be lumped in with the other pirate garb you mention as “relatively easy to get.” Quite the opposite.
For the rest of us who still want to look like pirates without popping savory deviates or getting hated with the Booty Bay goblins, it comes down to a question of headbands (or turbans) for clothies, and one of 7 eyepatches for those who wear leather and an eighth in mail.

Thnx for reply! I’ll spank WoW Fashion Guru for You, and make him eat that hat! I hope that he’ll survive long enough to post update!
>Hi Sterkvark! Well, by “relative easy to get” and referring to First Mates Hat, I meant that it can be bought on AH for few thousand gold (which is not lots of money), and its easier than grinding. I agree, it can be some time before it shows up, but in such cases I asked guildies to browse AH for me as well.
>Eye patches are not my first choice as you cant wear them as clothie (and I tend to write about stuff that any one can wear) and I think hat looks better than eye patch.
> Thanks for reply m8, hope to hear from you soon!
We may have to agree to disagree about whether a few thousand gold is lots of money, but aside from that there is no question that the first mate hat is the first choice, hands down. Barring that, clothies are stuck with bandanas and turbans, but eyepatches for the rest of us. The Swashbucklers red one is particularly fine, at least on my toon.
Cheers, m8!
I agree w/ you. Thnx for ingame screenshots, as you can see I included them into gallery. Cheers!
Lets not forget the red pirate shirt that drop in the Deadmines. It goes perfect with Bloodsail admirals hat.
