Spotlight: Tier 7.5 Undead Rogue
Raiding Tier-X sets used to be tailored by Blizz in such way; they become (a) instantly recognizable, (b) epically good looking and (c) provide best stats ingame. That practice has been followed (with some minor deviations) throughout the original game, BC and now WotLK. As proof, I present you live T7.5 set worn by most deadly, most hated, most OP, most skilless mindless, yet most fun to play class; the Rogue.
While we wait new patch and new end-game raiding instance, I am betting that you guys farm “new and improved” Naxx (yes, there was something called “Naxx” before ^^) for your main/off combat gear. Yeah, I remember back in old days , players with Tier 1/2/3 sets would just happen to have “loads of things to do” next to mailbox in IF or OG, as they were standing there for looong time, while being watched (and envied) by lower levels. Now days things are bit different. Since endgame content is available to almost all L80 players, and many epic items look “epic” together. But all that doesn’t change fact that Tier sets still look good.
Rogue Tier is good example of such epic tale. All in black, as “master of shadows” should be, with highly decorated golden pattern, this set made me giggle a bit, for the first time I’ve seen it. Let me explain; It is a known fact that Blizz took T3 raiding sets as template for T7. Players commented that T4/5/6 went little bit overboard with manga style, so Blizz listened and took one step back in design, which was actually a step forward. In this case, they kept unique shoulder piece feature; knives, removed some green parts, and T7 was born. Yellow stripes were enhanced to more “gold-ish” look, as gold was always symbol of wealth. And on black it is simply popping, making it “more epic”. That little touch is the reason why it should be worn in any Capital while “doing something time consuming and important” near the most crowded mailbox
. Even today.
While some may disagree, I must comment the fact that on undead race, outfit looks like they just got out from the grave which simply doesn’t work for me. I’m well aware that’s part of lore, and that’s what gives them unique charm, but cant shake the feeling that undead rip their clothes intentionally, just to make statement consistent with punk culture heritage.
I would like to thank Phearr (EU-Darksorrow) for the screenshots, and invite you readers to send your action screenshots!
