It is the Navy!Even your WoW Fashion Guru needed little break and time to relax. With summer holidays knocking at the door, there is nothing better than to spend them at seaside. And sea always reminds me of Navy. While we wait Blizzard to return boat crew on Azeroth boats, we can pay them a tribute with some Navy style dress up.

Yes, pirates were popular, and some people still dress up as pirates and wonder around all major cities, on the other hand you can join them, or start your own: “It’s the Navy” fashion style.

In this article we will show you how to sail marine style. As usual there is no easy way to achieve the full dress-up goal, but we will try to make it as easy as possible.

If at any point you find replacement of any of the items we suggested, please give us your feedback, we are happy to hear your toughs! Now keep up reading and hide your pirate costumes, as pirates are yesterdays news!

Admiral’s Hat

We will start from top, that means first thing you need is cool hat. We recommend Admiral’s Hat, which luckily can be crafted by skilled tailor. Pattern for it is sold by vendor Cowardly Crosby <Tailoring Supplies> in Stranglethorn Vale for 70 silver. However he has limited supplies of it, so you might have to wait for re spawn of it, or search AH. Pattern: Admiral’s Hat itself requires Tailoring (240).

Admiral’s Hat

  • Binds when equipped
  • Head Cloth
  • 51 Armor
  • Durability 45 / 45
  • Requires Level 43
  • Use: Gives 10 additional stamina to party members within 30 yards. (1 Min Cooldown)

Royal Blouse

Once you got it, you will need Royal Blouse which will basically pin you down to AH, unless you really want to try your luck around Azeroth, since the blouse is part of world drop, with higest drop rate on some rare (and rare elite) mobs.

Note: Highest drop rate was on Qiraji Major (Elite) in Thousand Needles but that NPC does not exists any more, up from patch 2.3.x.

Royal Blouse

  • Binds when equipped
  • Chest Cloth
  • 63 Armor
  • <Random enchantment>
  • Durability 70 / 70
  • Requires Level 43

Alternative (same model): Abjurer’s Tunic. Part of the world drop table. You can either browse AH for Royal Blouse, or for Abjurer’s Tunic as they look the same.

Night Watch Pantaloons

Once you have above two, you will need nice trousers. Now this is tough part. What we found is that Night Watch Pantaloons suits best for overall appearance, but.. they are only available to Aliance, and only through level 30 (min. req. L20) quest. Which is another issue; if you have done that quest sometimes before, you either took something else as reward, or you vendor-ed them once you passed level 25+.

It is the Navy!

Alternative (very similar model): Abjurer’s Pants are another part of world drop table. Be patient and search the AH. If you can’t find them in reasonable time, check for another possible replacement.

Another alternative: Mistscape Pants. In order to help you all with this part, we recommend another nice blue pants called Mistscape Pants. Again, part of the world drop, but can be fished in Western Plaguelands. However, drop rate is unknown. At this point we believe Ah is your friend, and price should be really low, since none is aware of their fashion potential.

As you can see, they actually fit really nice (taking into consideration that they are substitute):

It is the Navy!

Azure Silk Belt

Good belt to bring up whole set is required. What is fine Naval officer without a belt? Luckily this one is easy, Azure Silk Belt can be crafted by any tailor with minimum Tailoring skill (175). Mats are cheap too.

What I like about belt is the equip bonus: +15% swim speed :) If that isn’t Naval I don’t know what is.

Azure Silk Belt

  • Binds when equipped
  • Waist Cloth
  • 26 Armor
  • +5 Intellect
  • Durability 25 / 25
  • Requires Level 30
  • Equip: Increases swim speed by 15%.

And at last: boots.

Simple Linen Boots

For your relief, this is another easy item to acquire. Any tailor with Tailoring (20) can do Simple Linen Boots and mats again are very cheap. If you don’t have tailor at hand, search the AH, few silver not more, should be the price.

Simple Linen Boots

  • Feet Cloth
  • 11 Armor
  • Durability 20 / 20
  • Requires Level 4

And that is it! :) You are now full member of Azeroth’s Naval force. Whether you are in RP or you just wanna tribute those boat crews which disappeared by mystery, we hope that this guide will help you out to break everyday grinding / killing routine.

Enjoy your Naval fun, and give us your feedback!

I like this look very much and went after it for my dwarf toon. You can see the end result here:

I had done the Nightwatch quest long ago, unfortunately, but found decent substitute legs in Royal Trousers of Spirit.

I wanted a suitable pair of small shoulders and found a great color match in Brocade Shoulderpads (grey level 17 item).

I went with Mistcape Boots because of the blue stripe, and it turns out that these are precisely the footwear worn by the Royal Navy Officers on ship at the Stormwind docks.

I chose to wear Abjurer’s Gloves which I like for the good blue color and the broad gold band that looks like braid and extends up the arm. The Royal Blouse is a short sleeved affair, and after much though I went with the White Swashbuckler’s Shirt underneath to match the white of the braid on the Admiral’s hat.

As for a scimitar, it was a cheap purchase from the weaponsmith near the SW AH. I then ran Deadmines for pirate clothes and picked up Buzz Saw from Sneed & Sneed’s Shredder which has a perfect shade of blue on the grip for this uniform.
